Scleroderma Foundation recognized for its partnership with ATS on a two-year research grant
The
American Thoracic Society (ATS) recently held their annual meeting in
Philadelphia. The Scleroderma Foundation was recognized for its
partnership with ATS on a two-year research grant. Kerri Connolly
(pictured left), the Foundation’s Director of Programs and Services,
accepted the recognition at an event held May 19.
Earlier this
year, the organization announced a partnership for a two-year research
grant specific to lung involvement in scleroderma.
ATS is one of
the nation’s leading medical professional organizations that is
comprised of thoracic and pulmonary experts from around the world. This
research partnership helps the Scleroderma Foundation reach even further
among researchers working on finding advancements in lung disease and
scleroderma.
SF also Joins the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable
The
ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (ATS PAR) is a core component of the
American Thoracic Society and a mutually beneficial partnership wherein
organizations that represent persons affected by respiratory diseases,
sleep-related conditions, or related critical illnesses collaborate with
the American Thoracic Society to advance their shared educational,
research, patient care, and advocacy goals. The Scleroderma Foundation
is delighted to participate on the ATS PAR group to provide the
scleroderma patient’s perspective to the Society and to provide the
Board of Directors with strategic guidance to keep patients and families
as a central focus of all ATS activities and programs.
