My life with Scleroderma  My life with Scleroderma I have had this disabilitating illness since I was 13 but will not let it define me! I am now 32 years old. I have had Scleroderma since I was 13. I have gone through a lot of ups and downs and a lot of medicines. I would have never have made it as far as I have without my support system, mainly my mother. When I was little I felt like I had to help everyone through their feelings on how to deal, when I myself at that time had trouble coping. I can remember people telling me they would be in their bed crying all the time and I told them if I did that I wouldnt get to LIVE. There is one thing through all of this that bothered me when I was little - everything I read said life expectancy is only five years so. I know that's silly now, I always thought when I was 18 I was going to keel over dead. NO ONE CAN EVER TELL YOU THAT; ONLY THE GOOD LORD CAN SAY WHEN HE WANTS TO TAKE YOU HOME! |
