Tips On Minimizing Holiday Stress

mall.jpgFrom time to time on our Facebook page, we ask questions to our followers about how they prefer to deal with different issues while living with scleroderma. Recently we asked, "What tips do you have to help minimize the holiday-time stress?" We got loads of great responses! Check some of them out below;

"Planning each day before bed, allowing self maybe five or six items to complete on a to-do list. Allow extra time to accomplish activities to avoid rushing. Avoiding negative people and/or people who stress you! Avoiding stressful environments."

"I keep the Reason for the Season at the forefront of my mind. I accept I can't do all the things I used to be able to do. I rest when my body dictates rejuvenation. I try not to place undue stress on myself."

"Keep it simple, I only bake one or two items that are easy and multiples, the new paper baking loafs are great. I also like to keep on-hand gift cards that I would use in case I don't hand them out."

"Gift exchange instead of trying to buy for everyone. Everybody is supposed to find a gift inside their house, wrap it, and then everybody gets something and didn't stress out about what to buy, and didn't have to go out to buy it."

By far the most popular tip was: "Internet shopping."

Hopefully these tips will help make your holiday season a little less stressful, and a little more enjoyable.
