Scleroderma & Me

"I hope to meet more people who are dealing with this condition and help uplift them."

Hello my name is Christina, I'm a 34-year-old African American woman living with scleroderma. I was diagnosed in October of 2011, it came out that year. These days I'm doing well, I'm taking weekly as well as daily meds.

Recent current of events, on March 21, 2014 I had to have surgery due to having fluid around my heart. They took 600cc's off of me which is said they normally take 50 some cc's off a person. I thank God it was taken care of when it was. I couldn't walk without getting out of breath. God kept me cover.

I'm glad to hear about more and more people are dealing with this like I am. Before a year ago I was starting to think that there weren't that many people dealing with this because everyone I talked to knew nothing about this illness which some still don't. Every time I look up scleroderma I'm finding more and more information and I just recently saw this site.

Well I just wanted to say hello and tell you a little bit about myself. I'm glad to know about this foundation. I hope to meet more people who are dealing with this condition and help uplift them.
