Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Announces 2016 National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day
The DEA announced that the National Prescription Drug Take-Back day will be held on April 30th. The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe,
convenient, and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs,
while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of
medications. Many Americans are not aware that medicines that languish in home
cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse.

National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) Help Design New Sensor
A U.S.-Chinese team that included researchers from the
National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering
(NIBIB) and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, both parts

Scleroderma Foundation Launches New World Scleroderma Day Virtual Walk
To
commemorate World Scleroderma Day on June 29, 2016, the National Office of the
Scleroderma Foundation is hosting a VIRTUAL “Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma”
walk-a-thon! This is a great opportunity to connect with old friends, meet new
ones online and virtually walk in memory or honor of loved one affected by
scleroderma.
The National World Scleroderma Day Virtual Walk is connected to “Stepping Out
to Cure Scleroderma”, the Foundation’s premier fundraising event.
Unfortunately, “Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma” walks do not occur in every
city across America. But it is important
to the Foundation that everyone has an opportunity to participate in the walk
in some way. It is an easy and fun way to make a difference by raising
funds for those living with scleroderma.
Before
you begin planning your Virtual Walk, check and see if there is a local
walk near you. Click here to see a list of walk
events in your state. Many of our 22 chapters are hosting walks in 2016 and
even have their own virtual component in the event you cannot attend. We do
encourage you to participate locally whenever possible.
